Last week, SOS Leadership sponsored a great event for women in Austin at Concordia University Texas. More than 200 women came to hear from four great speakers. Although the event was for women, I attended to represent SOS Leadership. It is impossible to go to something like that and not take something positive away. After the evening concluded the word that came to my mind that really summarized my takeaway was: Passion.
Each speaker in their own way touched on passion and how important it is in our lives. A couple months ago, I wrote a post about loving what you do, which touched on passion. I thought after this event that it was appropriate to mention it again.
Passion is what drives us as leaders. Our passion is contagious and it can have a profound impact on others. The passion of the four speakers at the event energized me. I couldn’t even sleep that night I was so excited. They reminded me again how much I love what I get to do for a living. Helping others realize their passion is such an amazing gift. It is a gift that I do not take for granted.
Do you know your passion? How much time do you currently invest in that passion? What is holding you back from focusing more on that passion? I encourage you to find the courage to stand out as a leader and share your passion with others.
If you are having trouble figuring our your passion or your purpose in life, one of the speakers from our event said something that will absolutely help you. Dr. Patsy Sulak of Living Well Aware said we must “periodically pause, ponder, plan, and pray.” These four P’s, I believe will lead you to your passion and purpose in life.
This weekend do those four things. Get energized and start fresh on Monday working towards your passion.
