Join us throughout the month of March and beyond as we feature guest bloggers who share their perspective on how they bring their leadership to life! This blog series highlights the theme of the 2nd Annual Evening for Austin Leading Ladies, an event that SOS Leadership is honored to be hosting in partnership with The Concordia MBA on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Concordia University Texas. Today’s blog post comes from Bailey Bounds
The past seven months have been eye-opening in terms of how I lead. In August, I joined the Gr8 Women Leaders program and embarked on a journey with an incredible group of ladies to grow our leadership. From working hard to set and achieve goals to taking a deeper dive into the way that I manage my time, this program has given me a much clearer snapshot of who I am as a leader.
The best way that I bring my leadership to life is by always being there to help people.
I think a good example of this would be how I take what I learned as a writing major in college and use it to help people with job applications, school papers, medical school essays, professional books, blogs, articles and more. If something I love and have a skill for could make even the slightest difference for someone else, then you can bet your bottom dollar that I will work with them for weeks until they feel they’ve got the best content possible.
At last year’s Evening for Austin Leading Ladies, I learned something I will never forget: “Leaders are just real people who have trudged through the experience and want to come back to the starting line to offer others direction.”
Writing is just one of the many starting lines I will sprint back to in a heartbeat for anyone.
What starting lines do you come back to?
Stay tuned in the days to come as the Bring Your Leadership to Life Series continues….
