January 3, 2017 – Austin, Texas – SOS Leadership is proud to announce that Rose Moyer will be joining the SOS Leadership team full-time starting immediately. Rose has been a Partner at SOS Leadership since its beginning in March 2008. She will now come on full-time as the Chief Community Officer.
In her role as Chief Community Officer, Rose will inspire new, creative ways to deepen engagement with the community. She will work to improve existing efforts and launch new ones based on SOS Leadership’s core values of Stewardship and Servant Leadership. She will work to build partnerships and find ways to use SOS Leadership’s time, talent and treasure to build up leaders in the community.
Besides leading community engagement efforts, Rose will also head up Non-Profit training and consulting for SOS Leadership. This part of SOS Leadership is growing rapidly based on a real need by Non-Profit organizations to invest in people and growth.
“I am so excited to have Rose Moyer join us full-time as our Chief Community Officer,” SOS Leadership Co-Founder and President Billy Moyer said. “Rose brings a unique skill set to our team along with a passion for leadership and serving others. Our business has been a special part of the Moyer family for almost nine years and I look forward to the growth that will come from the addition of Rose. I also look forward to getting to work closely with my mom as she has been such an important influence in my life.”
Rose has leadership experience in the non-profit sector and has been speaking professionally for many years. She is the former Director of Senior Centers at Meals and Wheels in Waco, TX where she worked for 20+ years. Most recently, Rose served as a Mature Driving Program Coordinator for Baylor Scott & White. In this role, Rose spoke to Senior Citizens about the importance of safety behind the wheel and she led trainings to help them improve their motor skills.
Rose also serves on the board for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). She cares deeply for young people. She is a volunteer mentor at Waco Center for Youth and has received their Volunteer of the Year award. The Diocese of Austin honored Rose and her husband Bill with the Friend of Youth Award and the Lumen Gentium Award. She has a B.A. in Social Welfare from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania.
She has been married to Bill for 35+ years, has four grown children and seven grandchildren.
